Rulon® and Meldin® Materials for Instrumentation
Analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment are used to make extremely precise measurements that eventually lead to advances in medicine, aviation, computers, and other industries. This level of precision is achieved, in part, through the integration of components fabricated out of Meldin® and Rulon® materials. Critical components for laboratory instruments and other testing apparatus often include bearings, ferrules, seals, bushings, vanes, and various structural components.
With outstanding chemical resistance, high temperature capability, and low outgassing or leaching properties, both Rulon and Meldin materials make reliable components for instrumentation applications.
In addition, Rulon materials can be sterilized for use in dental drills, medical instruments, and breathing apparatus. Special grades of Rulon with specific porosity characteristics and permeability values can be incorporated into filtration components since Rulon is inert and does not release any trace elements into the filtrate.
Case Study
Application: Lab HPLC Instrument
Material: Meldin® 7022
| Features / Benefits | - Meldin® 7022 ferrules were selected for High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) as a tubing connector for an HPLC instrument.
|
- Meldin® 7022 makes a tight seal under high temperatures and does not pollute or outgas into the samples, which provides very high-purity lab measurements on the HPLC.
