Rulon® and Meldin® Materials for Aerospace

The extremely demanding aerospace market is ideal for our high performance Rulon and Meldin materials, which separately or in combination, can help solve the most complex technical problems.  Our Meldin polyimide materials, with their high temperature resistance and mechanical strength properties, are particularly well-suited for these stringent applications.  Equal to the task, our Rulon products offer solutions for applications where excellent wear-resistance and chemical compatibility are required to ensure long life in harsh environments.

Material:  Meldin® 7021

  • Meldin® 7021 is ideally suited for high temperature aerospace applications.  Bushings made from Meldin® 7021 provide a bearing surface for vanes inside major OEM engines.  They also provide longer life and reduced maintenance for airlines.

  • Low thermal expansion allows small clearances
  • Tight tolerances can be machined easily

  • Meldin® 7022 has the lowest coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) in the Meldin® 7000 Series, making it ideally suited for applications that require tight clearances over a wide temperature range.  The CTE comes very close to aluminum, making it ideally suited for leakage control in aerospace applications.

Meldin® Materials

Polyimide and engineered thermoplastic materials available in compression or injection molded and machined components, as well as basic shapes for aerospace and other applications.
